As the title of the book ‘Stijlvol wonen’ (Living in style) reflected about this villa, too, Marcotte Style took on the challenge here to transform a cold new-build villa into a cosy cottage villa. Most elements were preserved in order to slightly keep costs down. For instance, the interior decorator rebuilt the kitchen by simply placing new panels in cottage style and through which the colour of the salon can also be found in the kitchen. Only a few new small cabinets and a cornice give the impression of a completely new kitchen. The kitchen table was therefore executed in the same solid oak as the bar between kitchen and living room. From there, the same trend was continued into the dining room in which a similar solid white oak table was placed. Thanks to these measures, the feeling of unity is a true pleasure. All walls were nicely finished with panelling and the slightly too stern, nearly modern fireplace was fitted with a wooden casing.
